MICHAEL PAYLOR

Born and bred into the London theatre community, Michael is an accomplished actor, director and producer. He was “discovered” at age twelve lighting up the stage in the St. Thomas area and soon became a staple of the Original Kids Theatre Company. Michael acted with OKTC into his early twenties and went on to direct a number of shows for them including Rent, Tommy, and Through the Looking Glass.
It was around this time however, that Michael hit a road block. Where was there to go after Original Kids for a theatre artist like himself? Although well regarded as an actor, director, stage manager and swing actor, he found that because of his youth it was difficult to find work with the established theatre companies in London. Michael decided to bridge the ever widening gap between professional theatre and youth theatre with a company of his own.
In early 2007, Michael and his wife Leigh launched Noisy Mime Theatre Company. With the goal of professional quality youth theatre clearly in sight, they opened “Months on End” to broad acclaim. Noisy Mime continues to hold a reputation amongst the young and young at heart alike for the highest quality, imaginative, thought provoking and entertaining shows available in London.
Some of Michael’s acting credits include Seussical the Musical Junior (Horton) with London City Music Theatre, The Soldier Dreams (David- nominated for a Brickenden Award) with Column 13, The Tower (The Dying Man) with Fully Insured, andTick Tick... BOOM (Jon), and The Importance of Being Earnest (Algernon) with Noisy Mime Theatre Company. He has produced all of NMTC’s productions to date and directed Months on End, The Importance of Being Earnest, The True Adventures of Robin Hood, and Tick Tick… Boom.
